Barre is a strength training workout which incorporates movements from ballet, pilates and yoga. We perform isometric movements, firing up those tiny muscles all over your body that you’ve never thought existed. It is high intensity (meaning high reps), but extremely low impact on your joints. There is some cardio element to this, as we move to the beat of the music for more fun and coordination. Barre is a form of fitness and not dance/ beginners ballet.

Barre practice typically involves higher reps with smaller isometric movement. There is some form of cardio in it which increases your heart rate and aid with calories burning; we also move to the beat of the music! Pilates is all about control, and moves are done in a slower pace. Hence, this practise is anaerobic (no cardio element); and movements are done in lower reps.
